It’s flower power – but not as we know it! Banff and Macduff Community Trust is putting on a blooming great show with its In Bloom project to green up and clean up the towns. The seeds of change have been planted by the Trust, and the town centres of Banff and Macduff are awash with vibrant floral colour during the summer months.

In Bloom Project - VolunteersVolunteers speahead the In Bloom project. There are many different strands to In Bloom - one of the most noticable is the hanging baskets which grace the towns during the summer. This year the display is being extended, with a further 50 baskets being erected in Macduff alone. In Bloom volunteers also tend the grounds of Banff Castle and Airlie Gardens, have created a daffodil walk in the Wrack Woods and are working on designs to create landscape features at the gateway entrances to Banff and Macduff.

In Bloom Project - VolunteersIt is hoped the fantastic floral efforts of In Bloom will give visitors a better impression, and enable local residents to feel a bit more pride in their local community. This project relies heavily on volunteers, so anyone who would like to help should come forward to enable In Bloom to blossom. No previous experience of gardening is required and all donations of time - no matter how large or small - are greatly appreciated. We would love to hear from anyone who is willing to volunteer – get in touch with us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
